CHARD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY

Hello and welcome the second Chard Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Newsletter. Our second meeting took place on 6th February, 2008 in the Gallery above Hooked on Books and was poorly attended – only 5 businesses in the town being represented – come on,  make use of the Chamber and help us push for some positive changes in Chard which will benefit all of us.

Following on from the first meeting the questions of policing in the town and parking problems were addressed and a Police officer and PCSO (both local to Chard) came to hear our concerns and to explain what they could do to help improve things. The introduction of the radio link system is imminent as the funding is now secured and the Police will be making direct contact with each business in the town about it. The problem of parking was not something the Police  could address alone and it was agreed that a joint meeting be arranged between the Chamber, Police, County and Town councils so that a full discussion can take place  - we will let you know the date so that you can attend and have your say.
